Our commitment
Shovel Studio is committed to making www.shovel.studio accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we do
We build accessibility into how the Site is made:
- Semantic structure: pages use proper heading hierarchy and landmark elements so screen readers can navigate them logically.
- Keyboard support: interactive flows, including our multi-step contact form, can be operated with the keyboard — for example, pressing Enter to advance and Shift + Enter for line breaks in text fields.
- Media: video embeds include player controls, and we provide alternative text for meaningful images.
- Visual clarity: we use a consistent type and color system designed for readable contrast across light and dark sections.
- Responsive design: the Site adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels.
Known limitations
We're continually improving, and some areas may not yet fully meet our target:
- Decorative and animated elements (such as the interactive footer) are non-essential; if any are difficult to interact with, all key content and actions remain available elsewhere on the page.
- Some third-party embedded content (e.g., Are.na, video, scheduling) may not fully match our accessibility standards, as it is controlled by external providers.
If you encounter any of these, please tell us — see below.
